RIISS00034 Surface Coal Mine Safety Skill Set

This program is a knowledge refresher for candidates that require a 6-month extension for the Standard 11 they completed.

Units which will be refreshed include:

• RIICOM201E: Communicate in the workplace
• RIIGOV201E: Comply with site work processes/procedures
• RIIWHS201E: Work safely and follow OHS policies and procedures
• RIIRIS201E: Conduct local risk control
• RIIERR205D: Apply initial response first aid
• RIIERR302E: Respond to local emergencies and incidents

Things to bring with you:

• If you have completed your Standard 11 via another RTO please ensure you provide us with your "Statement of Completion" for Standard 11 listing all 6 units of competency. If you have completed this via Col Joy Training Services we will provide a copy of this documentation. 
• Drivers Licence or another form of legal identification. E.G. Passport, High Risk Work Licence.
• USI Code

All students will be required to create or obtain their personal USI. Certificates cannot be issued without this number.

Appropriate clothing and enclosed footwear must be worn when attending courses.

Course Outcome

Following successful completion of the 1 day face to face program you will receive the following:

• An ID card of partial completion so you can enter a site
• A statement of Completion

You will then be required to complete a Site Verification Logbook which has 3 components:

1. Questionnaire- these are a series of question s directly related to your role and requirements.
2. Verification Evidence- you are required to provide a series of workplace documents and evidence you are completing appropriate forms on-site.
3. Site Supervisor Verification- This contains a number of statements that must be verifies and signed by your immediate Supervisor.

Participants must complete and return a Site Verification Workbook within 6 months before receiving the Statement of Attainment.
